Saturday 24^th – Street Machine Drag Challenge
Saturday 24^th – Open track Test n Tune

The South Coast Raceway is located on Madeira Packet Rd in south Portland opposite Yarraman Park and the go-cart track.

Coming into Portland on the Princess Hwy:

- Turn right onto the Henty Hwy just past the Claymac Ford

- Turn right onto Madeira Pkt Rd

- Turn right into the South Coast Raceway

(look for the big South Coast Raceway sign with the flags flying)

We are sorry to say that due to the current weather forecast for this weekend we have cancelled Friday and Saturday’s events. Late rain is expected Friday afternoon, a high chance of rain due on Saturday along with low temps. Both the Street King and Chicago Shootout event will be rescheduled later in the year when the weather looks a little better.

February the 20th will go down in history here at South Coast Raceway, with the fastest ever outlaw nitro funny car pass in Australia. Ric Gauci in nitro express ran a 3.65 at 209mph and side by side 3 second passes all day at over 200mph coming thick and fast not to forget the sportsman racers who didn't disappoint either with pbs everywhere. The day was well supported by an enormous crowd, with the viewing areas at breaking point to see the action......but once the nitro fumes and smoke had settled the club celebrated it's 10 years with 8 new life memberships being awarded and handed out to the recipients by the current life members. Congratulations Scott Cleary, Andrew Smith, Greame Pitts, Mick Cleary, Robert Crutch, Ricky Smith, Chris Farrell and Ian Smith for all your years of hard work and dedication....

The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car’s next stop on Australia’s biggest nitro tour will head back to Portland and the iconic eighth mile track on the south-western coast of Victoria on the 20th February 2016. The field will feature a huge line-up of the 4000hp Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars, Nitro Express, Lets Boogie, The Bandit, New “Red Devil” ’57 Chevy, New “The General” Dodge Charger, New “Bumblebee” Chevy Camaro, New “Backdraft” & New “The Russler” Chevy Camaro. As well as the crowd favourites – two wheelstanding supercharged funny cars the Nitro Sheriff Wheelstander & the New “Rocketship” ’57 Chevy Wheelstander. For the first time ever at Portland a “Salute to the Crowd at 1PM, where all Nitro cars line up on the strip and start at once! The new tune-up for the funny cars mean bigger flames and faster times than ever before, which will be sure to fire up the south coast fans. Plus the day will also feature a huge line-up of Sportsman racers including Supercharged Outlaws, Modified Eliminator, Super Sedan, Modified Bike, Super Street and Junior Dragster Gates open at 9am, with Sportsman Racing from 10am to 8pm.
