J B Sharp Series BMG Aviation Scholarships are open to boys and girls under 18 years, in their first 2 years of rowing.
Competing clubs and schools may submit a maximum of two written submissions for boys and two written submissions for girls listing performances in last year’s Sharp Regattas and the first four regattas of this years Series.
Both single sculling and crew performances will be evaluated.
Club Captains and School Rowing Masters are required to complete and lodge nominations.
At the conclusion of the Series a *$1,000* Scholarship will be awarded to a boy and a girl judged to be most deserving by the Evaluation Committee.

Passing of Nick Garratt AM
It is with the deepest sadness that Rowing Australia announces to the rowing community the sudden passing of four-time Olympic rowing coach, and current ACT Academy of Sport and U23 Australian Rowing Team coach, Nick Garratt AM.
Nick was in Penrith with the U23 Australian Rowing Team, as part of his role coaching the U23 Australian Lightweight Women’s Pair and U23 Lightweight Men’s Double Scull, when he passed away suddenly on Monday 8 July.
Rowing Australia is working closely to support our current U23 athletes at this difficult time, with the team due to travel to the USA for the World Rowing U23 Championships in the coming week and also our current Senior Australian Rowing Team, many of whom have been coached by Nick.
Details of funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

After an exciting day of Semi Finals, three Australian crews have qualified for FINALS DAY starting tonight (AEST).
Sydney Rowing Club have had an outstanding campaign in the Wyfold Challenge Cup (4-) and have earned the right to face N.S.R. Oslo, Norway in the Final. The school group from Scotch College, Melbourne have had an impressive week beating some big reputable schools in the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup (8+) and now verse Eton College, Windsor at 9:30pm in the Final.
Mercantile Rowing Club have also had a successful campaign in the Britannia Challenge Cup (4+) and have qualified for the Final. In what is a repeat of the 2018 Final, they take on Molesey Boat Club, winners over Sydney Rowing Club at 1:20am.

Day 3 of the Henley Royal Regatta offered up some enthralling racing with outstanding results from Australian crews. The regatta now moves to Semi Final crunch time in Day 4.
The Australian Defence Force crew (8+) had a fantastic first round hit out beating the Netherlands Forces by 4 boat lengths. They are now up against the German Forces at 9:20pm. To view the win over the Netherlands click here:

Sydney Rowing Club qualified for the Semi Finals after another commanding performance winning by more than 2 boat lengths in the Wyfold Challenge Cup (4-) and will take on Lea Rowing Club, London at 7:50pm. Congratulations to Harry Crouch (Sydney Rowing Club), George Finlayson (University of California, Berkeley / UTS Rowing Club) and Jackson Kench (Sydney Rowing Club / NSW Institute of Sport) on their selection in the Australian Under 23 Men's Eight after the recent selection trials in the United States. They will race at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton from 24-28 July.

Australia tops medal and points table at World Rowing Cup 2
The Australian Rowing Team wrapped up its first World Rowing Cup of the season by topping both the medal and points table at World Rowing Cup 2 in Poznan, Poland today (Sunday).
In the history of World Rowing Cups, Australia has never topped the medal table in Europe, while the last time it topped the points table at a World Rowing Cup held in Europe was in 2006, in Poznan. The last time Australia topped both the World Rowing Cup medal and points table at the same time was in 2014 at World Rowing Cup 1 in Sydney.
