MAROUBRA BEACH, SYDNEY (Wednesday, 22 November 2017): Boomerang Beach will become a showcase for some of the world’s best surfers when the Vissla Great Lakes Pro pres. by D’Blanc lands in the idyllic region in February 2018.

The elite five-day World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 1000 rated competition – which will form the third of four QS events on the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series – will take place from 7 – 11 February, 2018.

Over 200 male and female surfers will compete in the event, which will see over 18 different countries represented across both divisions.

In addition to sponsoring the entire NSW Pro Surf Series, Vissla has become the naming-rights sponsor to the Great Lakes Pro, with D’Blanc as supporting partner. Vissla’s John Mossop believes the increased partnership will help to enhance the sustainable qualification pathway for Australian and international surfers.

“Aspiring professional surfers have a long road in front of them in order to potentially qualify and gain seeding into higher ranked events, so we’re extremely proud to be able to assist in this by getting behind competitions in regional areas with great waves like the Great Lakes,” said Mossop.

“The Vissla Great Lakes Pro event at Boomerang Beach was such a great event for me to start my year and such a special place to be. Boomerang Beach produced amazing waves for the whole event and to stay at Moby's Retreat was an incredible experience," said Asing." There was no better way to start my year other than competing in this particular event. I can't wait to come back to surf this event again in 2018 to try and defend my title.”
