Adelaide has stormed home to snatch a thrilling win over the Brisbane in their grudge game at Titanium Security Arena.

The 36ers were nine points down with five minutes to play but led by the precision shooting of Mitch Creek ran out the narrowest of victors, 84-83.

Creek scored the winning basket with 30 seconds left on the clock to cap-off off a stunning comeback win. He finished with 23 points while Nathan Sobey (12 points) was impressive in transition as Adelaide continually pushed the ball in a fast-paced matchup.

The win was particularly sweet for the home side after a controversial clash between the Bullets’ Daniel Kickert and Adelaide’s Anthony Drmic and coach Joey Wright last season.

Kickert did his best to drag his team across the line with 18 points but ultimately couldn’t fix the Bullets fourth-quarter woes in a disappointing fade out for the visitors.

It was an important win for Adelaide with table-toppers Perth and New Zealand looming on the schedule while Brisbane also has a matchup with the league-leading Breakers on the horizon in round nine.
