UNITED DOWN HAWKS

Melbourne United has bounced back from its recent thrashing by reigning champions Perth with an emphatic 18 point win over last years runners up Illawarra at Hisense Arena.

The fast paced start to the game pointed to a close one, but the undermanned Hawks faded after halftime to go down 91-73.

After a slow start to the season, Chris Goulding got his groove back dropping 14 points and handing out 5 assists to help his side to a much needed victory.

Casey Prather continued to provide highlights for the home side, slamming on 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.

Rotnei Clarke (24 points) was a standout for the Hawks but lacked support as his team continued their hoodoo at Hisense Arena.
