RECORD 17 REBELS TO PLAY IN DIRECT CONNECT DEWAR SHIELD

Following a one week hiatus, the Direct Connect Dewar Shield returns on Saturday, with four Round Three matches taking place. And in an exciting development, seventeen RaboDirectRebels players will feature, smashing the previous record when twelve Rebels played in Round Five last season.

Three Wallabies will feature in Radike Samo (Box Hill), Luke Burgess (Melbourne) and Dom Shipperley (Melbourne Uni), as well as Japanese International Keita Inagaki (Southern Districts), while Burgess, Shipperley, Jonah Placid (Melbourne Uni) and Tom Sexton (Power House) will be making their Dewar Shield debuts.

Cruze Ah-Nau, Cam Crawford, Steve Cummins, Jed Gillespie, Bryce Hegarty, Tom Kingston, Ben Meehan, Tim Metcher, Cadeyrn Neville, Jordy Reid and Telusa Veainu are the other Rebels who will feature.

In the match of the day, Moorabbin host a rampant Melbourne Uni side, with the Rams knowing that they’ll need to be at their best to record their first victory for the season. This game will be live tweeted from the @MelbourneRebels Twitter account.
