Cloud 9 boardriders is a grassroots homegrown surfing company, that was started in 2006.After creating the “Secret  Spot Surfboard Company” in 1977 in the United States, Steve Hess an American surfboard shaper fell in love with the Philippines in 1997. Steve begin spending time on Siargao Island where he started supplying boards for local Siargao surfers. Secret spot with all of its background and experience begin to do research and development in and around the Cloud Nine area. Many of the best local surfers rode his boards and for quite some time secret spot was the dominant brand name in the waves of C9. As the infant Philippine surf industry began to grow, Steve with the help of his local team riders decided to use secret spot as a stepping-stone to a true Phil/Am Surf Company. With this purpose in mind C9 boardriders was born. C9 is dedicated to promoting surfing by connecting the 2 countries and exposing the sport nationally to help the fledgling Philippine surf scene grow. With more experience than any other local surfing company in the Philippines, and being placed on the premier surfing island in the country, C9 is here to show the world class talent and beauty of one of surfings“last frontiers”. We base our beliefs on the protection of the environment and preserving the natural beauty of our Mother Ocean with tribal-like fellowship of our surfing Ohana (family). Our mantra is  “The best surfer is the one having the most fun”.

Our surf team is second to none with either men/women, boys or girls. Our surf club is open to any and all who have our beliefs at heart. Being dedicated to the preservation of our Mother Ocean and  for future generations C9 will donate a portion of any sales of our products to this noble cause. We ask that you join our ohana (family) and experience the true love and aloha that the pure essence of surfing brings to so many. At C9 we believe girls surfing is the style and grace of our beloved sport, therefore our sister company “Surf Angels” was developed. We hope that Surf Angels will give girls surfing a boost and help to promote our message even stronger.
