Matt Carroll appointed Chief Executive Officer of Yachting Australia: Yachting Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of experienced and respected sports administrator Matt Carroll to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Matt commences with Yachting Australia on Monday 24 November 2014, replacing Phil Jones who is leaving the organisation after 17 years at the helm.more

Inclusive Club Standard: The launch of the Inclusive Club Standard during October has received a very positive response from our member clubs; this week we are pleased to congratulate the following clubs for adopting the Inclusive Club Standard: Carrum Sailing and Motor Boat Club, Docklands Yacht Club, Mordialloc Motor Yacht Club and Westernport Yacht Club.The Inclusive Club Standard has been designed to facilitate assessment and planning efforts with respect to inclusion. The document contains multiple checklists that enable clubs to evaluate their inclusiveness. Junior School Sailing Carnival Succes: Monday the 17th of November saw the running of the first of two Junior School Sailing Carnivals? on Albert Park Lake for the 2014 â?? 15 season. The carnival looks to engage with junior schools with the goal of creating pathways for their sailors into Senior School Sailing teams. Run in the Boatshed owned OziOptis, schools each enter a team of four to compete in a Team Sailing format of 4 v4 across. more

ISAF Sailing World Cup - Melbourne 

The ISAF Sailing World Cup - Melbourne finished up on Sunday 14th December. The World Cup this year saw over 800 competitors from 33 nations and over 230 volunteers, in what was a fantastic week on and off the water.

Fan cranks up for final Melbourne day: A second and final set of medal winning performances brought the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Cup -Melbourne to a close on Sunday December 14.Some of the day’s highlights on the Stadium course included Tom Burton’s trifecta of gold medal Laser wins at this World Cup event, the Australian identical twins out-sailing the Portuguese brothers in the 470s and the final epic Finn grudge match between Great Britain’s Ed Wright and Oli Tweddell that went the Brit’s way.

31st January, 2015 – Race Officer Course – Hampton Sailing Club

ISAF IRO Seminar: This year the 2014 International Race Officers Seminar was held in Melbourne from Friday the 5th –Sunday the 7th of December at Royal Brighton Yacht Club.19 participants attended the seminar which was led by presenters Rob Lamb (UK) and John Parrish (NZ) with the assistance of Kevin and Ross Wilson (AUS).Whilst the majority of participants came from Victoria and interstate to attend the seminar participants also traveled to Melbourne from China, France, Singapore and the United Kingdom to attend. The seminar was a success concluding with 11 of the 19 participants extending their stay in Melbourne to participate in the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne.

Young Victorians take on the Tasar Worlds: One of the many benefits with the Tasar class is that it has regular World Championships scheduled in interesting and exotic locations around the world. This year the World Championship is being sailed in Busselton, Western Australia, with a fleet of over 120 Tasars.more

2016 Australian Youth Championships date change: Following extensive consultation with States and Classes, Yachting Australia will move the Australian Youth Championships from its current 6-10 January timeslot to 10-14 January from 2016 onwards, when the event visits New South Wales and for at least two editions.more
