Sydney Dragway will fire-up like never before on December 12, with a massive field of burnout cars, a drifting demonstration and passenger rides as well as 1000 entries as a part of the EOY Festival joining the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars.

 

The new event structure has been developed to maximise the huge western-Sydney venue for one event and bring competitors and fans across a number of disciplines together in a celebration of motorsports focussed around the coolest nitro drag racing cars in the country!

 

Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car driver and Sydney Dragway Board Member, Rick Gauci has been instrumental in working with AONFC Management on this new format.

 

Gauci commented, “Working with Steve Bettes and Rob Sharp as well as Graeme Cowin from the Aeroflow team on this new show has been great!

 

“We have some fresh ideas on what can be achieved and by combining our show with what we are calling ‘Party in the Pits’, we appeal to a broader audience and engage more race fans into watching all of the action.

“But it’s not just about race cars, we have trade shows, cars shows, rides for the kids and much more. This is the next level of entertainment, we are pushing the envelope and we want families to come along and see the best show we can possibly put on!”

 

With more than 60 burnout cars set to compete, as well as a huge fleet of drifters, the action will be coming thick and fast.

 

Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car Manager, Steve Bettes, explained that he believes this might set a trend for events not only for the series but for drag racing overall.

 

“Getting families out to events is tougher than ever with all of the options that are available today. What our team at Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars believe is that if we put on a compelling and almighty show, we can get them to put down their phones, turn off their TVs and get them out to watch what will be the best thing they have ever seen!”
