Liverpool and Tottenham eyeing bargain deal for Premier League star with 127 appearances

19/03/2024, England, Multi Sports, English Sports Publications, Article # 31686760

The future of Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo remains up in the air as the summer transfer window draws closer, with Liverpool and Tottenham believed to be keen on a potential deal.

The 26-year-old has been at Fulham since 2020 and has made 127 appearances for the London club – 73 of which have come in the Premier League.

His time at Craven Cottage may be coming to an end though as the centre-back is out of contract at the end of the season and is currently set to become a free agent.

Tosin has been offered a new contract but according to Fabrizio Romano, the player will take his time over a decision and the transfer journalist doesn’t expect one anytime soon.

There is interest in the Fulham star from England, Italy, and Germany with Liverpool and Tottenham two clubs said to be eyeing up a move for the 26-year-old.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are long-term admirers of Adarabioyo and tried to sign him last summer, while Liverpool are also keen to add him to their defensive ranks ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Fulham star already has plenty of Premier League experience and would make a very solid back up for the defences of both English giants.

However, European sides have the advantage over the Premier League clubs as they can sign a pre-contract agreement with Adarabioyo outside of the transfer window.

It remains to be seen what happens with the future of the player but it is clear that the 26-year-old has acquired a lot of interest and has a big decision to make over the coming months.

Crystal Palace eyeing summer move for winger with 27 goals & 19 assists

19/03/2024, England, Multi Sports, English Sports Publications, Article # 31686761

Crystal Palace are one of the several Premier League clubs interested in Athletic Bilbao winger Alex Berenguer.

According to Spanish outlet AS, the Spanish club are struggling to agree on a new contract with him, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.

The report claims that the Spaniard has not agreed to any offers the club has made to him so far, and there is a high chance he could leave on a free transfer in the upcoming transfer window.

The report adds that Crystal Palace along with Brentford and Wolves have ‘taken notice’ of the player’s current situation and are considering making a move in the summer.

Alex Berenguer could be a decent signing for Crystal Palace

The 28-year-old joined Athletic Bilbao in 2020, and since then has made 159 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 27 and assisting another 19. This season he has scored 6 and assisted 2 in 26 games in La Liga.

He is a versatile attacker who plays primarily as a left-winger but can play on the right as well as a second striker.

With Palace expected to lose Eberechi Eze in the summer, Alex Berenguer could turn out to be a decent replacement for them.

Tottenham star expected to be out of the clash against Luton Town

Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven picked up an injury during their 4-0 win against Aston Villa last week.

The Dutchman was phenomenal in the first-half and was easily the best player on the pitch, helping keep the game 0-0.

But soon after the restart, he picked up a hamstring injury and was taken off. He was replaced by new January signing Radu Dragusin who did a decent job after coming on to help the team secure a massive win over their top 4 rivals.

Ange Postecoglou revealed after the game that the injury is not too serious. He missed the game against Fulham but the manager suggested that he should be back after the international break.

However, injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar has now the shared the latest regarding the centre-back.

Dr Rajpal Brar on Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven

According to the doctor, the 22-year-old may not be back in time for the Luton game.

He claims that the severity of the injury has not been properly disclosed as yet but if the manager’s claim is to believed, it is not too serious.

The injury expert adds that while the comments from Ange are positive, he believes a return against Luton is unlikely.

Dr Brar told Tottenham News:

“Sounds like the assessment is ongoing but the comments from Ange are positive.

“We don’t have much information other than it being a thigh injury so it’s hard to give best vs worst case but typically that would be a difference of days vs months out.

“A better gauge will be to see how he’s training after the international break.

“I still think it’s unlikely he’s back for the next game.“

Radu Dragusin did not have the best of games in his first start with Tottenham as Spurs lost 3-0 to Fulham on Saturday.

Which is why Tottenham fans will hope that Micky is back in time for their next game on 30th March, as they can not afford to lose any more points.

World-class Bayern Munich star ready to leave for Liverpool, Man United not an option

World-class Bayern Munich star ready to leave for Liverpool, Man United not an option

19/03/2024, England, Multi Sports, English Sports Publications, Article # 31686763

Bayern Munich are prepared to sell Joshua Kimmich this summer according to reports out of Germany, and the midfielder is also open to leaving.

The 29-year-old is out of contract in 2025 and there have still been no talks over a new deal.

This means that the upcoming summer is the ideal time to sell Kimmich and according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, if a suitable offer comes in for the Germany star, Bayern Munich will accept it.

It is believed that the Bayern star is only open to joining one of five clubs, with talks with some of them having already happened.

Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are the projects Kimmich would like to be a part of; while Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain are no goes for the 29-year-old.

Joshua Kimmich open to Liverpool move

Kimmich has been at Bayern for nine years, therefore, a move would be a big change for the midfielder.

Out of the clubs the player is open to joining, Liverpool would be the best next step for the Germany international. The Reds lack quality defensive midfielders with Wataru Endo carrying the load in that role for Jurgen Klopp this season.

Kimmich would be perfect for this role and would fit seemingly into the Reds’ current system.

However, Klopp is leaving at the end of the season, which means there will be a lot of unknowns at Anfield next season, which could impact his chances of a move to Merseyside.

“He got more and more fired up” – Danish journalist opens up about his viral Jurgen Klopp inte

19/03/2024, England, Multi Sports, English Sports Publications, Article # 31686764

The Danish journalist at the centre of Jurgen Klopp’s viral post-match interview following Liverpool’s FA Cup defeat to Man United has opened up about the incident.

The Reds lost the match to their Premier League rivals in dramatic fashion as Amad Diallo scored a last-minute winner in extra time to send Erik ten Hag’s men to Wembley.

There were so many incidents going on around the match but one that did the rounds was Klopp’s interview with Viaplay commentator Niels Christian Fredericksen.

The German coach was not happy with the questions he was being asked and left the interview before its conclusion in what looked like a very tense situation.

Fredericksen has now opened up about what happened around the interview and explained to the Daily Mail how Klopp got “more and more fired up.”

“Klopp got more and more intense,” said Fredericksen, who has covered Premier League football for Viaplay for 10 years.

“He got more and more fired up and then he started: ‘Dumb question, I can’t have this any more, I don’t want to stand here,’ and he just left in the middle of the second answer.

“I was just like ‘what the f**k’. It was quite an innocent question, not totally dumb.”

“It’s not too clever but it’s not stupid by any standard and for sure it’s not aggressive. It really took me by surprise,” Fredericksen continued.

“When he went around me I asked, “why do you feel so provoked?” Then he shouted at me and he pushed my microphone away.

“I kept walking after him with a microphone and he pushed it away. He was trying to flea from the interview.”

Klopp has often said that he is a bad loser and he most likely regrets what he did in the heat of the moment.

This is not the right way to treat someone who is just doing their job and it is not a surprise Fredericksen feels shocked by the whole ordeal.

“Should’ve been taken out” – Shearer claims Burnley player has been badly managed by Kompany

“Should’ve been taken out” – Shearer claims Burnley player has been badly managed by Kompany

19/03/2024, England, Multi Sports, English Sports Publications, Article # 31686765

Burnley secured the signing of Manchester City youth goalkeeper James Trafford for a reported fee of £15 million, which could rise to £19 million with add-ons.

The Englishman’s move made him the third most expensive British goalkeeper in history.

Trafford made a strong start at Turf Moor, notably impressing in a 1–1 draw against Brighton last December with 10 saves, earning him the Man of the Match award.

However, the talented shot-stopper has encountered difficulties in recent performances. Trafford has faced challenges, conceding a notable number of goals—62 in 28 Premier League appearances this season—while managing only two clean sheets.

This dip in form has raised concerns among fans and pundits alike.

Alan Shearer criticises Vincent Kompany for James Trafford management

Former English striker turned pundit Alan Shearer criticised Vincent Kompany’s decision to persist with Trafford in the team despite his struggles and mistakes during challenging periods.

Shearer empathised with the 21-year-old, highlighting the immense pressure placed on a young and inexperienced player in his debut English top-flight campaign.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Shearer expressed his belief that it would have been beneficial for Trafford to be temporarily taken out of the team to reflect and regroup, given the demanding nature of the goalkeeper position.

He said:

“I think it’s been a really tough season for him and at times, I think he should’ve been taken out. I think it’s been a mistake by Vincent [Kompany] to leave him there at times where he’s been under huge pressure, mistakes.

“And when that happens, I think you’re sometimes better off taken out of the team to sit back and have a look and reflect and give the job to someone else because goalkeeping is a very tough position anyway.

“But someone who’s so young and inexperienced, to come into the Premier League and be asked to do such a huge job, it’s a tough ask and I think it’s been unfair on him at times.”

There’s no denying Trafford’s potential, and he’ll be eager to bounce back and prove his worth after his high-profile transfer.

“You’re not even a footballer” – Jesse Lingard comes under brutal criticism after poor perfo

19/03/2024, England, Multi Sports, English Sports Publications, Article # 31686684

Jesse Lingard has come under brutal criticism after a poor start to his South Korean adventure.

Last month, the former Manchester United and West Ham attacker signed a two-year deal with South Korean K League club FC Seoul on a free transfer.

Regarded by South Korean football journalist Lee Sungmo as “the biggest signing in the K League’s history,” Lingard’s move to Seoul was anticipated with much excitement.

However, he has not lived up to his hype so far and Seoul manager Kim Gi-dong recently expressed his disappointment with Lingard’s performance in an interview with Korea JoongAng Daily after his team’s 2-0 win over Jeju United.

He said:

“He only played a few minutes, and yet he didn’t work hard and avoided tussle. If you run less than a footballer who has played 90 minutes, you’re not even a footballer. Fame doesn’t win football games. If it did, I would have brought in a famous retired player.”

Jesse Lingard could never live up to his expectations

West Ham will feel relieved they did not sign Jesse Lingard

In the second half of the 2020–21 season, Lingard joined West Ham on loan until the end of the season, reuniting with former Manchester United boss David Moyes.

During his brief time at London Stadium, spanning 16 games, Lingard scored nine goals and provided five assists.

After his impressive spell with the Hammers, the club attempted to secure his permanent signing several times, but the deal did not come to fruition.

They were interested in signing him this summer as well but he eventually ended up moving to South Korea.

West Ham may now feel relieved that such a deal did not materialise, given the player’s decline in form.
