I would like to apologize to Josh Davis, Danny Holgraver and Eichinger Trailer sales. We awarded the Hard Charger Award sponsored by Eichinger Trailer Sales to Danny Holtgraver but a mistake was made and it should have been awarded to Josh Davis who had a great run from 22nd starting spot to 10th place finish. Again we apologize to all involved. Josh will also be paid $100 for the Hard Charger in the 17th Annual Freedom 40.

I would personally like to thank all 107 race teams, the fans, and the Atomic staff for a successful show on Sunday. Alotta people said don't do it you will lose your a$$ but I believe in the supporters of Atomic Speedway and I am a gambler. Was the weather cooperative? Yes but the rain thru the week made for some rough conditions at times. We kept working and it ended up decent. Our second full year is in the books (except for kart races Oct 9-10) and it has been good season despite the weather and 8 rainouts. I would like to thank everyone, fans, staff, race teams, sponsors, and my family most importantly who put up with the stresses of this business. Now on to 2016 bigger and better!! Keep an eye out for exciting announcements soon and the schedule should be released after PRI in December. Once again thank you for supporting Atomic Speedway Thanks Brad

CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-Atomic Speedway has announced that the 17th annual running "The Seneca Energy Corp. Freedom 40" has been postponed from Saturday to Sunday, October 4th on the Midwest's fastest 3/8 mile high banked dirt track. The event will be sanctioned by the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association (OVSCA) which has averaged over 30 cars during the season at its events at Atomic. Joining the exciting sprint cars will be AMRA Modifieds, and Sports Mods. The two divisions of 305 Sprints have been sidelined Sunday due to an effort to get race fans and teams home at a decent hour.
Winners on the "Who's Who" list of champions for the Freedom 40 include five All-Star Champs and two World of Outlaw Champions. Seventeen Freedom 40's have been scheduled starting with the inaugural race won by Jack Hewitt in 1990. Two races were claimed by rain including the 2010 event which was to be run as a non-wing USAC venture July 31, 2010. Prior to last year's event won by Californian Randy Hannagan, Todd Kane won the previous Freedom 40 in 2011. The track was closed in 2012 and most of 2013. Additionally, No Freedom 40 events were scheduled from 2005 to 2009. A list of winners is listed below.
Many great drivers have expressed an interest in this year's event. 2014 Track Champion Danny Smith is locked into the event as well as Freedom 40 qualifier winner and runner-up Dale Blaney and Cole Duncan if they choose to participate.
For an evening of great family fun and entertainment for the entire family, experience the thrill of high speed, wheel-to-wheel racing on the Atomic high banks. A kid’s playground is available for the children as well as a full midway of food, treats, and souvenirs.
General Admission is $20, senior citizens $18, and children 12-and-under free. A pit pass is $35 for adults and $20 for kids 12-and-under.
Pit gates open at 1 p.m. and General Admission gates open at 2 p.m. with a driver's meeting at 3:30 and sprints fire at 3:45 followed directly by hot laps.
Track management has stated, "We wanted to get this race in on Saturday, but the effects of the hurricane look to dump a good deal of rain here tonight (Friday) and Saturday. Also the temperatures Saturday are hard on sprint engines and the fans. Sunday, the weather looks great with temperatures in the 70's. In our hearts we feel this change will make for great racing and optimal enjoyment for all."
"We value our 305 drivers and teams, but we WILL NOT be running either 305 class because of our efforts to get the show in quickly. We hope to have 305 sprint specials again next year for those teams that had shown interest in this event. Our goal is to push this show along with hope of being done by 8 p.m."
Once again we reiterate that we are only running 3 classes:
OVSCA Sprints $4,000 to win!
Sport Mods $1,000
In addition to Seneca Energy Corp., Ohio Pest Control, Bobst Auto Parts, Tim Hattle Trucking, Eichinger Trailer Sales, Downs Construction, "Until There's None-Veteran PSTD and Suicide Awareness" have helped make this event possible. "Until There's None-Veteran PSTD" has put up $500 for fast time and Eichinger Trailer Sales, Tuppers Plains, Ohio has offered $100 for the Freedom 40 Hard Charger Award.
