Brno, next stop for Avintia Racing

Breathless, the MotoGP paddock packed up to take the road and drive from Austria to Czech Republic for the eleventh round of the MotoGP World Championship, at Brno circuit this weekend. The Avintia Racing riders, Hector Barbera and Loris Baz head the Czech venue eager to get a good result. Hector wants to forget his mistake at the Austrian Grand Prix start with a great performance at Brno; while Baz wants to build his confidence after last weekend Red Bull Ring race, where he scored some valuable points. His aiming for a Top 10 result on Sunday’s 22-lap-race.
Brno is a technical 3.36 miles track and it features 14 corners and 15 metres width, constantly changes in elevation as it sweeps across forested hillsides and its fast undulating corners test rider talent to the limit. It’s also one of most popular of the calendar with 100,000 people crowds coming every year watch the races at the Czech venue.

Hector Barbera

“Brno is a track that I like, in my first season in 125cc I was battling for the podium, and I have more great memories. I’m in great shape now, I feel strong physically and mentally. I have great feeling with the bike and I work really good with my team. I’m full of confidence about our potential and I head Brno with high expectations. Last year we were fast in practice and qualifying, but we made the wrong tyre choice and we struggled at the end of the race. But every year I’m fast at Brno, so I’m confident ahead this weekend. I want to forget Austria with a great result on Sunday.”

Loris Baz

“I really like Brno, and I have good memories. I archived my first World Superbike podium there. I also love the place, the environment is amazing and is always full of fans, racing weekends are always good at Brno. Last year I won the Open Class ahead of Hector and Nicky (Hayden), and my race was quite good. I think that due to the track characteristics, the problems we had during the first half of the season will appear, but in the other hand, I think we’ll compensate, because it’s a fluid track and there are not many slow corners with hard accelerations. We have to keep the same line from Austria and build on that, I’m motivated and I have good feeling ahead this weekend.”
