NATIONAL RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND TWO PREVIEW

Australians will be treated to another action-packed weekend as Round Two of the National Rugby Championship kicks off tomorrow in various locations across the country.

At present there will be three Wallabies taking to the field including Izaia Perese (Queensland Country), Kane Douglas and Adam Korczyk (Brisbane City).

The Sunshine Coast will host the first match when Queensland rivals Bond University Queensland Country and McInnes Wilson Lawyers Brisbane City go head to head at 1:05 PM AEST.

Following this match Melbourne fans can get behind their home Melbourne Rising team when they take on Fiji Airways Drua at Harlequin Oval at 3:05 PM AEST.

On Sunday we’ll see two winners from Round One, Canberra Vikings and Road Safety Perth Spirit battle it out on our nation’s capital at 1:05 PM AEST.

Soon after Sydney siders will pack into Macquarie University to watch the Macquarie University Sydney Rays take on the Greater Sydney Rams at 3:05 PM AEST.

Round Two Fixtures: 
Saturday 9 September 
Bond University Queensland Country v McInnes Wilson Lawyers Brisbane City
When: 1:05 PM AEST
Where: Noosa Dolphins RU Club, Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Broadcast Information:

  • Queensland rivals will go head to head on the Sunshine Coast with three Wallabies joining the teams.
  • Izaia Perese will join Bond University Queensland Country’s side whilst Kane Douglas and Adam Korczyk will play for McInnes Wilson Lawyers Brisbane City.
  • Country will be chasing their first win for the NRC season after just falling short in Round One against Canberra Vikings 48-40.
  • Brisbane City are looking to start with back-to-back wins after beating Fiji 45-36 last weekend.

Saturday 9 September 
Melbourne Rising vs Fiji Airways Drua
When: 3:05 PM AEST
Where: Harlequin Park, Frankston Park, Melbourne
Broadcast Information:
  • Melbourne showed plenty of resilience in the first round but fell 45-33 against 2016 defending champions Perth Spirit last weekend.
  • Fiji are still chasing their first ever NRC win after being beaten by Brisbane City in Round One.

Sunday 10 September 
Canberra Vikings v Road Safety Perth Spirit
When: 1:05 PM AEST
Where: Viking Park, Canberra
Broadcast Information:
  • Canberra will be chasing a second win after beating Bond University Queensland Country 48-40 last Saturday.
  • NRC defending champions Perth Spirit hit the road after a first-up win over Melbourne Rising.


Sunday 10 September 
Macquarie University Sydney Rays vs Greater Sydney Rams
When: 3:05 PM AEST
Where: Macquarie Uni, Sydney
Broadcast Information:
  • The Rays made the most of their bye in Round One and spent last weekend at an intense training camp in Macquarie.
  • This weekend the team will have the leading try scorer from the Shute Shield, Paula Balekana take a crack at NRC level.
  • Last week the Greater Sydney Rams cruised to a 44-23 win over the Elders NSW Country Eagles and will be looking to keep their spot at the top of the ladder.
