The Victorian Junior Surfing Team struck gold last week at the Surf Dive N Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles held at Culburra in NSW. The 23 strong team of surfers came home from the week long event with 3x Australian Titles: Ellie Harrison in the Under 14 Girls Individuals, Daisy Corbett & Sophie Fletcher in the Under 19 Girls MR Shield Pairs, and Xavier Huxtable & Codie Jeffery in the Under 16 Boys Allstars.

The highly successful Surfers Rescue 24/7 program was launched this morning by Surfing Victoria as part of the Victorian Governments Play it Safe by the Water initiative. Initially developed by Surfing NSW in response to research that found surfers complete more than 50% of rescues in the ocean, the program has been expanded to Western Australia and now Victoria.

The Hydralyte Sports Surf Series presented by Billabong is set to propel the country’s best young surfers into the future with the full support of Surfing Australia and the World Surf League (WSL). The 3 event Pro Junior event series will include stops at the legendary Bells Beach, the Gold Coast and Cronulla, kicking off at the aforementioned legendary Victorian break on January 13, 2018.
