2018 HANCOCK PROSPECTING
AUSTRALIAN SWIMMING TRIALS

Thank you for supporting our athletes during the 2018 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Trials! Whether you were cheering along at the Optus Aquatic Centre, watching on TV at home, or getting involved on social media - we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Here are just a few of our highlights...

Ariarne Titmus made her way into swimming’s history books – becoming the first swimmer in 14 years and only the sixth Australian ever to take out the 200, 400 and 800 metres freestyle events.

Keeping the grassroots green - we had heaps of fun hosting our Optus Junior Dolphins with daily Carnivals and a Junior Excellence Program on Saturday. Nightly club relays in the competition pool was a guaranteed way to get competitive hearts racing.

We LOVED seeing our swimming royalty take to the pool again in the ever-popular Optus Legends Relay! With thanks to Dan Kowalski from the Australian Swimmers Association for pulling together such a star-studded field.

George Corones was the unexpected star of the show, breaking two world records in the 100-104 age group category for the 50 and 100m freestyle events. A true inspiration to all!
