SYDNEY KINGS TRIUMPH OVER CAIRNS TAIPANS

The Sydney Kings have snapped a five game losing streak with a much needed win over the Cairns Taipans at Qudos Bank Arena.

Led by imports Jerome Randle and Jeremy Tyler, the Kings set up their win with a dominant first half before running out winners, 81-72.

Jason Cadee (16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) was a standout for the Kings in the first half shooting 4-8 from behind the arc. Randle has returned back to his 2016 MVP form scoring 16 points and grabbing 6 rebounds for the game. Big man Tyler (15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists) was player of the game.

The Kings win was soured by an injury to Todd Blanchfield who had a head clash with teammate Isaac Humphries in the second quarter and was carried off with a suspected concussion. Perry Ellis also hurt his shoulder in the first quarter but finished the game.

Cameron Gliddon (20 points) and Alex Loughton (19 points, 5 rebounds) were among the best for the Taipans who will be out for revenge when they play the Kings at home this Saturday.
