Symetra Tour Announces Gosling’s Dark ‘n Stormy® Classic

at Atlanta National Golf Club

LPGA presence back in metro Atlanta for first time in 10 years

MILTON, Ga., March 10, 2016 -The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, announced today the addition of the Gosling’s Dark ‘n Stormy® Classic to the 2016 schedule. The 54-hole event will be held the week of May 16-21 at Atlanta National Golf Club, also the co-host of the 2017 U.S. Mid-Amateur.

The tournament’s name is derived from Gosling’s signature drink, the Dark ‘n Stormy®, a combination of Gosling’s Black Seal Rum and Gosling’s Stormy Ginger Beer.

“Gosling’s is excited to put our name and delicious Dark ‘n Stormy® beverage behind a brand new Symetra Tour event in Atlanta,” explained Malcolm Gosling, seventh generation President & CEO, Gosling-Castle Partners, Inc. “Our company is also proud to be partnering with the LPGA on the UL International Crown in Chicago this summer as we feel investing in women’s professional golf is a great way for us to grow our brand and expose more people to Gosling’s Rum in a major market.”

First-round play will begin on Thursday, May 19 with the final round scheduled for Saturday, May 21. The field of 144 will be trimmed to the top 60 and ties following second-round play on May 20.

The total tournament purse is $100,000 with the winner earning $15,000 and taking a significant step up the Volvik Race for the Card money list. The top 10 on the Symetra Tour’s final money list earn LPGA membership for the 2017 season.

“We’re excited to bring the Symetra Tour into a great golf market like Atlanta,” said Chief Business Officer Mike Nichols. “Atlanta National Golf Club will be a top test of golf for our professionals and I know longtime fans of the LPGA will be excited to watch women’s professional golf again.”

This is the first time the LPGA has had a presence in the greater Atlanta area since the 2006 Florida’s Natural  Charity Championship hosted by Nancy Lopez at Eagle’s Landing Country Club. The last Symetra Tour event in Georgia was the 2012 Vidalia Championship at Hawk’s Point Golf Club (Vidalia, Ga.).

“Atlanta National has prided itself on hosting premier golf tournaments and the Symetra Tour is a perfect opportunity for us to showcase our venue while also gaining experience for the 2017 U.S. Mid-Amateur,” said Mike Davis, General Manager of Atlanta National Golf Club. “ClubCorp has 30 premier facilities in the area and we’re anxious to highlight women’s professional golf to our membership as well as the general public.”

Volunteers are the backbone of any professional golf tournament and the Gosling’s Dark ‘n Stormy® Classic will be no different. The tournament is currently looking for volunteers in a variety of areas including cart drivers, scorers, leaderboard operators and more.

Symetra Tour Announces 2016 Preliminary Schedule with Increased Purses

New initiative gives two Symetra Tour players exemption into The Evian Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (November 20, 2015) – The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, announced the 2016 preliminary schedule today along with two major initiatives to connect the Symetra Tour with the LPGA Tour. The 2016 preliminary schedule, which will begin the week of February 15 in Beaumont, Calif.,

currently features 23 events and the highest individual tournament purse, total and average purses in the 36-year history of the Tour. The season will once again conclude with the Symetra Tour Championship the week of October 10 in Daytona Beach.

“This is the earliest we’ve released our schedule and its another example of how far this Tour has come in an effort to truly mirror the LPGA,” said Chief Business Officer Mike Nichols. “By partnering with Symetra and our tournaments, we have been able to grow average purses and allow our members a better

opportunity to earn more money while chasing their LPGA dreams.”

The new Symetra purse matching program that was announced in October along with Symetra’s extension through the 2021 season as the entitlement partner of the Tour has been instrumental in growing returning tournaments purses. Of the 14 tournaments that have announced their purse level for 2016, half have taken advantage of the purse matching program.

The 2016 preliminary schedule features four tournaments with purses of $200,000 or higher; Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial ($200,000), Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Women’s Health Classic ($250,000), Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge ($210,000) and the Symetra Tour Championship ($200,000). For perspective, there were no $200,000 events in 2013 and just one in 2014. Further, in 2012, the highest single tournament purse was one event at $150,000. In 2016, a minimum of nine tournaments will have purses at or exceeding $150,000.

The Symetra Tour also announced a new initiative that includes two all-expense paid exemptions into The Evian Championship for the top two finishers at the Symetra Tour’s FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship at Battle Creek Country Club in Battle Creek, Mich. (July 22-24). This is the first time that the Symetra Tour has offered exemptions into an LPGA Tour major championship.

“The best way to prepare our members for the next stage of their career is giving them first-hand experience,” said Nichols. “This is huge for the Symetra Tour to provide two of our players the occasion to measure their game against the best on a big stage and also get their feet wet traveling internationally to compete. We are grateful to our friends at The Evian Championship for extending this unique experience.”

The second big initiative is a partnership with the TLPGA Tour (Taiwanese LPGA Tour). Twelve of the top TLPGA players and Taiwanese amateurs will earn entry into the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic (April 8-10) and the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial (April 14-17) before heading to San Francisco to compete in the

Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic (April 21-24).

Other highlights of the preliminary schedule include five four-round events, a new event in Kansas City, Missouri (Kansas City Championship) and the addition of the second joint Legends Tour event at the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Women’s Health Classic. The 2015 Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial was the first time LPGA Hall-of-Famers from the Legends Tour like Pat Bradley and Nancy Lopez were paired with Symetra Tour players while competing for separate purses and trophies.

The Tour’s final schedule will be released in early January once all tournaments and purses are finalized.

BRITTANY BENVENUTO WINS ANNIKA ACADEMY ELITE ATHLETE AWARD

Benvenuto wins $5,000 from ANNIKA Academy for demonstrating “Winning Approach”

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (October 20, 2015) – The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, in conjunction with the ANNIKA Academy is excited to announce that Brittany Benvenuto (Langhorne, Pa.) is the recipient of the second annual Symetra Tour ANNIKA Academy ELITE Athlete Award. Benvenuto best demonstrated the same “Winning Approach” philosophy, which Annika Sorenstam used during her playing days.

“I was really excited when I found out,” Benvenuto said. “It was something that I thought I probably could obtain when I went to the first session. I really enjoy going to the sessions with the team from the ANNIKA Academy.”

Annika, who founded the academy in 2007, presented Benvenuto, a fellow former University of Arizona golfer, with the ANNIKA Academy ELITE Athlete Award during the LPGA Tour card ceremony following the Symetra Tour Championship presented by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

“I would always hear a lot about Annika in Tucson when I was playing for the University of Arizona,” Benvenuto said. “I still hear about her work ethic and dedication from all of the pros in town and it’s a really cool tie in with us both having played there.”

Benvenuto, who attended all four sessions, had her best season yet on the Symetra Tour with four top-10 finishes and 18 cuts made in 22 events played.  She finished the year ranked 21st on the Volvik Race for the Card money list.

“Congratulations to Brittany for winning the ANNIKA Academy ELITE Athlete Award,” Annika said. “She played very well this year and shared our “Winning Approach” by attending our Academy educational sessions. We wish her continued success.”

Symetra Tour players had the opportunity to take part in four professional development sessions delivered by the ANNIKA Academy throughout the 2015 season. Sessions focused on various aspects of the “winning approach” including fitness, nutrition, club fitting and more.

In January of 2014, the ANNIKA Academy became the official elite golf-training academy for the Symetra Tour. Last year, Casey Grice (College Station, Texas) captured the inaugural ANNIKA Academy ELITE Athlete Award

Annika is widely regarded as one of the greatest women’s golfers of all-time. She won 72 LPGA Tour titles including 10 majors.

Symetra Extends Title Sponsorship for

‘Symetra Tour — Road to the LPGA’ through 2021

Purse subsidy program projected to increase average purses by 25% in 2016

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Oct. 19, 2015 — Symetra Tour Chief Business Officer Mike Nichols and Symetra Assistant Vice President of Brand Development Kathryn Riley today announced that Symetra has committed to a four-year extension as the exclusive title sponsor of the Symetra Tour — Road to the LPGA. The Bellevue, Washington-based life insurance company will continue its role as the umbrella sponsor of the Symetra Tour and two events on the tournament schedule — the Symetra Classic held in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the season-ending Symetra Tour Championship Presented by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“We’re pleased to extend our role as the Symetra Tour’s title sponsor through 2021, and we’re delighted to be affiliated with the rising stars of women’s golf,” said Kathryn Riley. “Over the last few years, we’ve watched our brand take flight along with the careers of many talented young golfers — and the response from our business partners and employees alike has been extraordinarily positive.”

In addition to its sponsorship extension, which will run through the 2021 season and represent a decade of partnership, Symetra also has pledged incremental dollars to a purse subsidy fund that provides a financial match to tournaments that raise their purses starting in 2016. As part of this program, the 2016 purses of the Symetra Classic and Symetra Tour Championship will increase to $150,000 and $200,000, respectively; the latter to a level that would have made it the second-highest purse on the 2015 schedule.

“Symetra has been a committed partner for the past four years, but challenged us to find a way they could contribute to raising purses across the schedule,” said Nichols. “As the Symetra Tour continues its growth, we are proud to have in Symetra a partner that both sees the value of the Tour in helping build their brand and is fully invested in the future of women’s golf and the livelihood of our members.”

Symetra began its partnership with the Road to the LPGA in 2010 as the title sponsor of the Symetra Classic in San Antonio, Texas — an event that moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2012. The company then secured naming rights for the Symetra Tour in November 2011. Formally known as the LPGA Futures Tour, the Symetra Tour has served as the LPGA’s official developmental tour since 1999.

TEN PLAYERS EARN LPGA TOUR CARDS FOR 2016

Annie Park wins Symetra Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., October 18, 2015 - The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, handed out ten LPGA Tour cards for the 2016 season following the Symetra Tour Championship at LPGA International on Sunday.

The top 10 finishers on the Symetra Tour’s Volvik Race for the Card money list will play full-time on the LPGA Tour through category nine on the LPGA priority list.

The big move on Sunday came from Brianna Do, who closed at 13-under for the weekend and solo second for the second consecutive week. Do jumped from No. 12 to No. 3 on the final money list. Two weeks ago, Do was 18th on the money list and used back-to-back second place finishes to earn her card. She was 22-under over the last seven rounds to earn her card.

1. Annie Park - Levittown, New York, University of Southern California, 20-years-old, $68,673

Park came onto the scene in mid-June after finishing her junior season at USC. She finished T19 at her first professional event (Four Winds Invitational). One month later, she won her first professional event at the Toyota Danielle Downey Classic, holding off a late surge by Vicky Hurst. Two weeks later, Park proved that her first win was far from a fluke as she captured the PHC Classic in a playoff over Lee Lopez. In early September, Park won the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Charity Classic. Park is the only player in the top 10 that played in fewer than 15 events.

Park on Earning her LPGA Tour Card

“It means a lot to earn my card. It has been a lifelong dream to play on Tour and to finally get status is

unbelievable. I still can’t believe that I got my card, but I’m going to have to believe it next year.”

Notables

• Park is the first player to win Symetra Tour Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year since Mina Harigae in 2009. Since 1999, the other players to win both in the same year are Vicky Hurst (2008), Song-Hee Kim (2006), Lorena Ochoa (2002), Beth Bauer (2001) and Grace Park (1999).

She had a tie for second and a tie for sixth at the third and fourth events of the year and went onto record nine total top 10 finishes. The turning point of Iacobelli’s season was when she won the inaugural Tullymore Classic in early July. In her next two starts she finished T14 and T7. In mid-August, Iacobelli finished fourth to put her firmly in the top 10. After strumbling with two missed cuts in the Midwest that put her LPGA hopes in jeopardy, Iacobelli closed with a T3 finish in Arkansas, a T6 finish in Longwood and a T14 finish in Daytona to easily earn her Tour card for 2016. This is the second time Iaocbelli has earned her card through the Symetra Tour. She won the 2012 Daytona Beach Invitational to move from 22nd to fifth. Iacobelli on Earning her Tour Card

results take care of themselves and I think they did. I don’t think it’s sunk in just yet but it’s definitely a dream come true. I remember watching Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam compete at the Kraft Nabisco when I was 14-years-old and to know that I’ll get a shot to do what they were able to do for so many years is exciting. Final-Round News & Notes

LONGWOOD, Fla., October 11, 2015 - It took Jackie Stoelting (Vero Beach, Fla.) six years to get her first victory on the Symetra Tour, but it only took one event to get her second as the LPGA Tour member captured her second title in as many events at the IOA Golf Classic on Sunday. Stoelting is the first player to win back-to-back events on the Symetra Tour since Esther Choe, who won the 2012 Sara Bay Classic and the Riviera Nayarit Classic in consecutive weeks.

“It was a huge monkey off my back to win two weeks ago and now to win two in a row after six professional seasons is everything I could have asked for,” said Stoelting. “This is definitely the confidence I needed and an extra bonus to win twice.”

Stoelting, who captured her first win at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout two weeks ago, fired her third-consecutive round of 4-under, 67, to claim a two shot victory over Brianna Do (Lakewood, Calif.).

“Today, I was one shot back just like Arkansas entering the round and my goal was to get to 12-under,” said 29-year-old Stoelting. “On hole 17, I was able to hit it close and birdie to get to my goal of 12-under so I was happy about that.”

Entering the final round one shot off the lead, Stoelting was sitting at even for the day heading to the ninth when she stepped on the gas and tallied four birdies coming in to run away from the rest of the pack. Stoelting’s run was highlighted by a perfectly struck hybrid into the par-4 17th which landed a mere foot from the cup to give her a three-shot lead heading into the final hole. Stoelting calmly two-putted to seal the deal.

The victory this week was extra special for Stoelting because her whole family was in attendance including her dad, who was on the bag, her mom, who was her high school golf coach and her husband, who is her current swing coach.

“It has been a long journey to get here, I spent five years on the Symetra Tour,” said Stoelting. “None of my family was in Arkansas so to have them all here was just awesome. I’m glad that they got to witness it and be a part of it this time.”

Stoelting will now take some time off before preparing for the final stage of LPGA Qualifying School, which takes place in Daytona Beach during the first week of December.

“Both the courses in Daytona are like a home course to me,” said Stoelting. “Both of my career low rounds are on those courses so I definitely have the confidence. I needed these two wins to know that I am doing the right thing.”

Stoelting played in 18 LPGA Tour events this year and played in the last three Symetra Tour events as a non-member. Stoelting finished third on the Volvik Race for the Card money list in 2014.

The Symetra Tour season concludes this upcoming week with the Symetra Tour Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida. The top 10 on the Volvik Race for the Card money at the end of the event will earn LPGA Tour membership for the 2016 season.

DO MOVES TO NUMBER 12 ON VOLVIK RACE WITH 2ND PLACE: Brianna Do (Lakewood, Calif.) knocked in a seven foot birdie putt on her final hole to claim solo second place at 10-under par at the IOA Golf Classic.

“I saw the scoreboard and I knew that it had to be a hole-in-one or go home,” Do said. “It wasn’t going to be a win with a birdie but I hit a really good tee shot and I’m glad I made that putt for the birdie. It was a nice way to end the round.”

The second place finish earned Do a $9,342 check and allowed her to jump from 18th to 12th on the Volvik Race for the Card Money List. Do now sits a mere $1,277 back of the key 10th spot on the money list heading into the Symetra Tour Championship next week in Daytona Beach.

“I know that course well,” said Do. “I’ve played there many times for Q-School and the Tour Championship so if I just keep hitting it and making putts like I have been this week I think I’ll be in good shape.
